COVID-19 Second Round Payment Study - Chicago is First

March 22 2022 - The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in The bipartisan CARES Act and the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act which provided $175 billion in relief funds to hospitals and other healthcare providers on the front lines of the coronavirus response. During the second round of payment, Chicago was first. Philadelphia and Houston were second and third.

Chicago received $268 million. Philadelphia received $266 million. Houston received $160 million.

• Chicago accounted for 2.72% of 2st round payment.

• Across all 762 cities, 2st round payment ranged from $49,511 to $268 million.
